After spending a few days in New York for Bridal Market in October and pouring over the various contracts we have in place with 2013 clients as well as what is trending on twitter, blogs and Pinterest – we have a few decisive items that we know will be hot for weddings next year!
Above is a beautiful Anne Barge gown straight from the runway. This particular dress shows the ethereal feel we are seeing trend-wise for wedding gowns. Lots of dresses on the runway had ruffles, feathers, flowers and lots of bling. Also the ball gown is on the rise. Big wedding gowns come and go in the wedding industry – but we think 2013 is the year for big yummy detailed gowns! Bring it on ladies – we love it!
We also know that with the impending release of the Great Gadsby film – fashion designers are gearing up for glitzy glam fashion for spring. One of our favorite designers does this best – Claire Pettibone! This “Deauville” gown is perfect for that touch of gilded color for your gown. We also saw a lot of blue and champagne tones for wedding gowns as well. Let us know how you plan to glitz up your gown!
We are seeing a rise of neutral, blush, gold and pink tones for 2013. The end of 2012 we saw more brides and grooms opting for gilded pink and golds which will spill into 2013. However for 2013 – we definitely see a lot of our brides opting for champagne gowns for bridesmaids and neutral toned bouquets and flowers. Look for ivory and blush everywhere this year. Above also shows a trend of brides reusing their bouquets for decor on head tables…this is something we have been doing for years, but we are seeing more of it on blogs and on Pinterest.
Saw this at the Martha Stewart Weddings Market Party. While a sno-cone station may not be the overall trend – having fun with outside food vendor stations and food trucks is. Look for other fun activities like fortune tellers, caricature artists, manicure stations and make your own cupcake stations. The whole idea is to bring the kid out in you at your wedding.
Another major trend for 2013 are wine barrels. Look for them as cocktail tables and cake tables. We did this recently at Morais Vineyards (more from that wedding coming up this week).
Believe it or not – chicken wire is becoming wildly popular on Pinterest and we already have at least 2 weddings next year that will have chicken wire elements. It’s rustic and different and comes in various shapes. Look for escort card table decor with chicken wire and centerpieces as well.
Look for lots of ribbons and garlands everywhere next year!!
Finally – look for lots of wood everywhere – like our signature wooden boxes!
Of course there are repeat trends like lots of candles, lighting, paper lanterns, braids, funky socks and colorful shoes!
We are excited to be part of it with you in 2013!
Cheers!

Looks like 2013 is going to be as good as I thought it would be! I am loving the 20s inspired wedding dress designs coming out, and combined with the beige/pink color schemes…… I’m in love.
