We have all heard of many wonderful organizations that are making a difference while selling wedding gowns. But – I wanted to really take the time and write a post about my friend Tracy who s the owner of Recycled Bride. This is not a sponsored post – this is a post about finding the right home for a dress while making a huge change in someone’s life. No, Recycled Bride is not a non-profit – but it is run by a woman with a big heart. She wrote a post recently on her blog about one of her dresses that is for sale on the website. Without retelling the story completely – I will give you the brief synopsis and hope you will take the time to check out the dress. If you already have your dress – send the article on to all that you know are getting married and are still looking. If you are a wedding professional – I just ask that you keep this in mind as you talk to all of your engaged couples that come through your door over these next few weeks!
Maria and Evan were engaged in 2008 and the wedding planning went into full gear right away. Sadly, as Evan was on his way home one night he got into a terrible accident that almost took his life.
The doctor’s were not sure he would walk or even dance for their wedding day and they almost cancelled their wedding. But through an amazing amount of hard work and determination. Maria and Evan walked down the aisle together for their November wedding.
We are so happy for them. However, like so many stories we have heard over this past year – they are now drowning in medical bills while Evan is still recuperating. Maria is selling her beautiful Maggie Sotero dress on Recycled Bride for $1000. All of the money will be put towards his medical bills. Tracy, the CEO of Recycled Bride is paying for all of the shipping and handling of the dress!
Take the time to take a look. It could be your dream dress while you help make a difference in someone else’s life!
